Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is keen on signing a centre-back with the Blues set to lose Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva, Cesar Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva on free transfers in the summer unless they sign new deals.
However, according to Dutch journalist Marcel van der Kraan, Juventus defender and Chelsea transfer target Matthijs de Ligt is made for English football.
The 22-year-old could be set to leave Juve in the summer after his agent Mino Raiola hinted he was ready for a new challenge.
“I think Matthijs de Ligt is absolutely made for English football. Van der Kraan told talkSPORT via Football London.
“You have another Van Dijk coming to the Premier League if you get Matthijs de Ligt.”
