He has chosen Chelsea – Reports claims Chelsea are ‘very close’ to beat PSG to complete first summer signing
According to reports, Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele is close to joining Chelsea on a free transfer this summer.
Since his mega-money move to the Camp Nou from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, the French international has failed to live up to expectations. His success in Spain has been hampered by injuries and behavioral concerns.
Dembele has 32 goals in 150 games for the Blaugrana, but his contract with the Catalan giants is scheduled to expire this summer.
Earlier this season, the World Cup winner was left out in the cold, but new manager Xavi Hernandez pulled him back into the fold. In his 21 La Liga appearances this season, Dembele scored once and provided 13 assists.
Despite interest from Ligue 1 winners Paris Saint-Germain, Dembele has decided to join Chelsea, according to a report from TMW (as reported by 10 Sport). He is in favor of reconnecting with Thomas Tuchel, his former employer.
Tuchel was the winger’s manager at Dortmund, where Dembele made his name on the international scene. Despite PSG offering him a lucrative contract, the electrifying forward will chose the Blues over a return to France.
