REVEALED: Why UEFA latest new rule will favour Chelsea more than Bayern Munich

UEFA have confirmed that the Champions League will resume this summer, with the remaining Round of 16 ties to be played on August 7-8.

The four remaining Round of 16 second-leg ties, including Chelsea’s away clash against Bayern Munich, will be played on August 7-8 and are set to take place either at the home team’s stadiums or in Portugal.

This might be good news for Chelsea, despite Bayern Munich’s current form. The Bavarians have been confirmed as German champions, and the Bundesliga is set to end this June. The Premier League will however start in June and run until July, meaning that Bayern will go over one month without competitive football.

However, UEFA have confirmed that the Blues won’t be able to register new players for the Champions League season, meaning that Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner will be unable to feature for the rest of the campaign.

Can still scale through against Bayern Munich?
